How do you decide what’s worth seeing?
With so much choice where do you start?
Is it possible to do Vegas on a budget?
Don’t worry. These are the same questions we had when we first visited Las Vegas for our honeymoon and they led us on our own journey of discovery of one of America’s most modern cities.
So now, nearly ten years later (where does the time go?) we’re here to help you plan your own trip with our own Las Vegas travel tips and reviews.

Planning your visit to Vegas
One of the great things about Las Vegas is that you can have a fabulous break whether you’ve got an unlimited budget or just a shoestring.
We’ve got plenty of experience with the latter in particular & have discovered how to find cheap flights, best cheap hotels, where to eat cheaply, where to shop for bargains & what to do that’s free.
If you’re planning a luxurious break the desert city is still the perfect destination with first class hotels, restaurants and shopping malls.
Gambling might well be the first word that springs to mind when you think of Las Vegas but the city has so much more to offer no matter what your budget. In fact some of the newer establishments are being built without casinos such as the Mandarin Oriental hotel in City Center.
Las Vegas attractions
And whether you’re visiting Sin City for the day or a week for business or pleasure, on a romantic break or holiday with the kids there is plenty to do:
- Just exploring the fantastic resort hotels is an adventure as they’re complete entertainment centres with their own nightclubs, shopping malls, shows, museums, rides and attractions.
- World-class restaurants run by top chefs, affordable restaurants, cheap eateries and a whole host of buffets which line the strip so you can always find something to suit your wallet.
- There are so many attractions to see many of which are free and suitable for all ages. You’re most likely already familiar with iconic attractions such as the Las Vegas Fountains of Bellagio and the Famous Las Vegas Sign which are must-sees.
- If you want to venture out in to the Mojave Desert there are some amazing Las Vegas trips you can take to some nearby breathtaking sights such as the Grand Canyon, the Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon and many more. One of the most memorable things we’ve ever done is take one of the helicopter tours of the Grand Canyon.
Nevada’s largest city has a rich history. Explore the Downtown area, home of the Rat Pack, and take in one of the free sound and light shows at the Las Vegas Fremont Street Experience.
Another plus about this city is that you don’t have to be able to drive to get around. There are many different transport methods from the monorail to the bus or just plain walking. Use our maps to help you navigate the strip.

Our Vegas tour was absolutely incredible! The itinerary had the perfect mix of entertainment, sightseeing, and free time. We saw all the famous spots — The Strip, Fremont Street, and even took a short trip to the Grand Canyon. The team made everything so easy and stress-free. I’m already planning my next trip with them!
